Go Live: Storm Chase Streaming · iPhone, Android & Windows

Every platform. One button. Even in a dead spot.

Go Live streams your phone's camera, or your PC's webcam, to YouTube, Facebook, Twitch and more at the same time. No streaming software, nothing to set up mid-chase.

What your viewers see

Real frames from a chase near Roswell, NM, streamed live with Go Live. The graphics, alerts and ticker are added by the app, from your location.

Live stream from a dashboard: a severe thunderstorm warning badge, the streamer's name, nearest town, speed, clock, time on air and a scrolling alert ticker
A Severe Thunderstorm Warning for your county shows up on screen by itself.
Live stream of a storm cloud with a Flood Watch badge and the speed reading 73 mph
On the move: nearest town and GPS speed update as you drive.
Live stream under a dark storm with rain on the windshield, still in focus on the storm

How it works

Set it up once at home. On the road, it's one press.

  1. Connect your accounts

Sign in to YouTube, Facebook and Twitch from inside the app, once, on your phone or your PC. Pick your Facebook profile or any Page you manage.

  2. Press Go Live

Go Live creates the broadcast on every platform, starts your camera and sends it to all of them. Type your title once.

  3. Press End

Every broadcast ends together and is saved on each platform the way it normally would be.

On your phone or your PC

The same app and the same one button, and one subscription covers all of them. Sign in with the same Google account and it follows you from the truck to the desk.

iPhone & iPad

In the field

Your phone's own camera, with every lens from ultra-wide to zoom. Keep Go Live on screen while you're live: if you switch away, your viewers see your last picture held until you come back.

Android

In the field

Your phone's own camera, with zoom, focus and stabilization. Keeps streaming with the screen off or another app in front, so you can check radar mid-stream.

Windows

From a laptop or the desk

Any webcam or capture device Windows sees, and any microphone. A USB GPS receiver feeds the speed and nearest town. Your PC stays awake while you're live, and a lost connection reconnects without your viewers seeing the stream end.

Built for the field

Most streaming apps assume a desk and good Wi-Fi. Go Live assumes a windshield and one bar of signal.

Holds through dead spots

When your signal drops, Go Live keeps your broadcasts open and reconnects by itself for several minutes. Streaming to several places, your viewers see a "weak signal" card instead of a dead stream until your picture comes back.

Weather graphics

Your logo and name, clock, time on air, nearest town, GPS speed, live National Weather Service alerts for where you are, and a scrolling ticker. Pick a layout and colours; it does the rest.

Adjusts to your signal

Picture quality steps down when the connection struggles and back up when it recovers, so the stream keeps going instead of freezing.

Camera controls

On a phone, tap the preview for full-screen zoom from ultra-wide to 10x, tap to focus, brightness, stabilization, and Focus Far, so rain on the windshield doesn't steal the focus. On a PC, tap it for a full-screen view.

Comments and viewers

See how many people are watching across platforms, and Facebook comments, in one place while you're live.

The small things

A level on the phones so your horizon stays straight, a mute button that never drops the audio, upright or sideways picture, and an optional recording saved to your phone or your PC's Videos folder.

Where you can go live

Sign in once, or save a stream key once, and it's there for every broadcast.

Questions

Do I need a computer or streaming software?

No. Go Live is the whole thing: camera, graphics and streaming, on your phone. If you'd rather stream from a PC, Go Live for Windows does the same without any other software.

Does one subscription cover my phone and my PC?

Yes. Sign in to Go Live with the same Google account on each, and the subscription you bought on one works on all of them. On iPhone you can also sign in with Apple; Windows uses Google.

Which cameras work on Windows?

Anything that shows up as a camera in Windows: built-in and USB webcams, capture cards and dashcam capture devices. Go Live lists them for you to pick from, along with your microphones.

Is my login safe?

You sign in on Google's, Facebook's or Twitch's own page, so Go Live never sees your password. The sign-in it gets back is stored in your phone's or PC's secure storage and never sent to us.

Does my video go through your servers?

Sometimes. If you stream to two or more places from a phone, the app may send one copy to our relay, which passes it on to each platform. That saves your phone's upload, which matters on weak signal. On a PC, streams always go through the relay, which keeps your broadcasts open while the app reconnects. The relay doesn't record anything and forgets your stream the moment it ends. More in the Privacy Policy.

Why can't I go live on my Facebook Page?

Facebook only allows live video on Pages with at least 100 followers. Your profile works either way.

What about TikTok?

TikTok only lets accounts it has approved stream from outside apps. Go Live will add it when that changes.

Should I use it while driving?

No. Set up your stream and press Go Live before you roll, or let a passenger handle it. Weather alerts in the graphics are for your viewers, not for safety decisions: use official NWS warnings for those.
